The Depot, now preserved in the Heritage Historical Village, was originally built in 1923 where the tracks cross E. Beacon Avenue.  It replace a similar structure that had been built in the 1870's.  The C & NW relocated its agent and closed the depot in 1982.  The building stood empty for several years, but on June 1, 1987 the New London Historical Society arranged to have it moved to its current location.
Located alongside the Depot, is the Soo Line Caboose #138 (Cupola Type).  This caboose was built in 1888 by the Lafayette Car Works in Lafayette, Indiana and used by the Soo Line Railroad until the 1960's.  This is a wooden cupola type caboose donated to the New London Heritage Historical Village by William Winkler and was moved to the Historical Village in 1990.
Chicago & Northwestern Caboose #1153, built in 1968 (Bay Window Type).  It serviced coal trains in Wyoming during the 1970's.  It's last run was between Minneapolis and Duluth.  In 1993 it was moved to the Historical Village.

The most recent addition is a locomotive from the Laona & Northern. This 300 horse power diesel was built by the Vulcan Iron Works in 1941.  The locomotive was donated by Robert Polaske in 1999.
