The New London Senior Center, located at 600 W. Washington Street, is open to all persons age 60 and over. It is a multi-purpose center with a wide variety of activities available.

|
A nutrition program is offered Monday through Friday. Meals are also available for the home bound elderly. All meals are on a donation basis and are served at 12 noon. A meal reservation is required one day in advance by calling 982-8522.

|
The Center also provides recreational and educational opportunities. One day trips via motor coach are available, as well as bowling, dartball leagues and a Billiard Table. The Center has movies, card parties, dances and bingo, plus occasional classes in crafts and upholstery. During the school year, the Adopt-A-Grandparent Program works with the 3rd Grade classes and concludes with a picnic in the Spring at Hatten Park.

The Center is also a source of information for Medicare, Homestead Credit, Tax Preparation, Fuel Assistance and other programs offered through the County. A Benefit Advocate and Volunteer Transportation Coordinator are available at the Center every other month. Various health screenings are held throughout the year. Exercise equipment consisting of a new Treadmill and Exercise Bike is now available to our seniors.

The Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Volunteers are always welcome.

Local transportation is available through the Senior Van Program. Disabled persons are also eligible for this program. The Van runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Donations are appreciated. Rides can be obtained by calling 982-8523. The Van serves New London and the surrounding area within a six mile radius. William Bromwell is our regular Van Driver. The Van is equipped with a Wheelchair Lift.
