As of December 19, 2008, no one under the age of 18 is allowed in the whirlpool at the New London Aquatic and Fitness Center.  We are in the process of upgrading our facilities to meet the standards of the Virginia Graeme Baker Act.  This regulation will remain in effect until we have made the appropriate upgrades.  that you for your understanding and cooperation.  If you have any questions please call Lori Gorges - Aquatic Manager between 9am - 4pm weekdays.

The multi-purpose room is a spacious room located adjacent to the indoor pool and is available for persons 16 and older.  This facility contains universal weight-lifting equipment, dumbbells, two Stairmasters, a Precor elliptical Fitness Cross Trainer, an upright fitness cycle, a semi-recumbent fitness cycle, three treadmills, a rowing machine, a Pec Dec machine, a Cardio-Fit and single exercise mats.   The room is open during scheduled pool hours.

Public Notice - In the event of a thunderstorm guards will clear the pool.  Swimmers may enter the pool after the last sign of thunder or lightning.  No refunds will be given.
Adult Swim
Individuals must be 16 or older. 
Aquacise
A fast-paced water exercise class open to individuals age 16 and over.  Young teens 12-15 must have a parent with them in class.  Being held in the shallow end, no swimming ability is needed.
Brunch Swim Special
Individuals must be 18 or older to swim during Brunch Swim.  
Deep Water Aquacise
Combining the fast-paced workout of aquacise and the resistance of the deep water, this class is a great workout of aquacise and the resistance of the deep water, this class is a great workout for your cardio system as well as all muscle groups.  The class is open to individuals ages 16 and over.  Young teens 12-15 must have a parent with them in class.  Minimal swimming ability is needed and you will be using a floating exercise belt.
Family Swim

Adult must accompany any child under the age of 16 in the water.

Public Swim
open to everyone.  Swimmers and non-swimmers under the age 7 must have someone 13 or older in the water with them.  Water slides are open.  you must be 4' tall or be able to swim across the deep end of the pool to use the water slides.  Deep-end and diving well is open to swimmers that can swim across the deep-end.
Water Exercise Classes
Men and women 16 or older are welcome. 12 to 15 year olds must have a parent/guardian with them in the class.  Children under the age of 12 can not be left on deck or alone in the building while you are taking the class.  These classes require no registration.  All provide a variety of physical and social benefits.
Any concerns let the instructor know as soon as possible.  If you do not feel comfortable talking to the instructor you can contact the  Aquatic Manager - Lori Gorges.

Fees are due when you sign-up

A non-resident is anyone who does not reside within the Corporate City limits of New London

Parents stay on bleachers during lessons

Stay with you child until the instructor takes them

Be on time to pick up your child

No shoes in shower rooms

Have children go to the bathroom before lessons

If bad thunderstorms, lesson will be done from deck.  (Do not use showers/hairdryers or plug-ins)

During instructors absence adjustments are made by the facility management, so as not to interrupt your child's learning progression or inconvenience you in anyway.  These adjustments could include finding a replacement instructor, or combining a class

Class sizes will be limited to 6 participants at registration time and levels II and up could have as many as 10 in a class if children are moved up during the first weeks of lessons.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to talk to your child's instructor or the supervisor on duty.

Late fee for registration the Monday after will be $5.00.  The parks and recreation department does this for organizational reasons, such as ordering t-shirts, transportation and group reservations, etc.  For the pool it is to determine class sizes and instructor scheduling for the safety of our participants.

During the school year when school is cancelled due to bad weather so are lessons, those classes will no be made up or refunded.

NO REFUNDS OR CREDIT.

If the New London Schools cancel due to bad weather, swim lessons will also be canceled, those classes will be made up at the end of the sessions.  To find out if New London School is canceled listen to your TV channel 11 or radio stations.  (WDUX, WFCL, WHBY, WIXX) or call (920) 982-8524.

 

Instructors

During instructors absence adjustments are made by the facility manager, so as not to interrupt your child's learning progression or inconvenience you in anyway.  These adjustments could include, combing a class of same levels, or finding a replacement instructor.  Upper classes will be combined if enrollment is down.
