2024 Downtown Reconstruction Project - Planning Updates

July 14, 2021:  The City held a Public Informational Open House at Familiar Grounds on July 14th from 11:30am-1:00pm and 4:00pm-6:00pm.  33 participants stopped by asked questions and provided input to assist city planners in developing future designs for the downtown reconstruction projects.  Participants were asked to vote on several question to provide some input including preferred street and sidewalk widths, lighting/amenity styles and opinions on sidewalk dining options.  Those who could not attend but would still like to provide input can download the following information and comment sheet by clicking here.

June 2021: The City is in the beginning stages of planning for the 2024+ downtown reconstruction projects.   Currently North Water Street (from Shawano Street to Pearl Street) and Pearl Street (from Waupaca Street to the Wolf River) is slated for a full street reconstruction in 2024.  Pearl Street (from the Wolf River to Beacon Avenue) is tentatively scheduled for 2025 or 2026.  Project plans include full utility, road,  pedestrian and streetscaping improvements.  Click here for the tentative project map.
