Adult Fitness Classes

Membership Cards (Land Exercise Pass) - This is a drop in option for our Adult and Senior Exercise Programs that gives flexibility to those that have unpredictable schedules and the opportunity to try all of our classes instead of committing to a full 7 week sessions.
Membership cards (Land Exercise Pass) can be purchased or renewed at the Aquatic and Fitness Center, New London Parks and Recreation Office by stopping by or calling 982-8521 or online at https://apm.activecommunities.com/newlondon/Membership .
7 Week Session- If you have a set schedule and like routine and need the accountability for your fitness goals we are offering the 7 week sessions at a discounted rate. Registration for each session is available at the Aquatic and Fitness Center, The New London Parks and Recreation Office or by calling 982-8521. Membership Land Exercise Pass Fees:
Per 45-60 minute Class
Residents: $4.50 Non-Residents: $5.75

Personal Training

The New London Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of different options for Personal Training including training with a friend to not only motivate you but also cut the cost in half! Check out the informational flyer here!
Fees are as follows and registration is per hour:
Individual Personal Training
1-9 sessions: Resident/Non-Resident $29.75/ $35.25
10 or more sessions: Resident/Non-Resident $24.25/ $29.75
Buddy Training Cost is per person
1-9 sessions: Resident/Non-Resident $17.50/$20.25
10 or more sessions: Resident/Non-Resident $14.75/$17.50

Zumbathon
On December 5, 2023 at 6:00 PM, we will be celebrating our annual Zumbathon for Marta's birthday! This event raises money for different charity each year. Free will donations will be accepted, and there will be raffle prizes for attendees. Please come to the Washington Center Gym with your friends to dance and raise money for a cause.Passes for this class can be picked up at the Parks and Recreation office or over the phone at 920-982-8521.
Fit for the New Year
The new year is rapidly approaching, which means it is time to get ready for our ‘Fit for the New Year” program. Fit for the New Year is held Dec. 11-29 in the Washington Center Gym and during this time we will be accepting non-perishable food items in exchange for a fitness pass; which means one canned good for one class. This can be redeemed 4 times throughout this program. All food items will be delivered to the Food Pantry here in town. ‘Fit for the New Year’ consists of all drop in classes so please be sure to stop at the Parks and Recreation office or give us a call at 920-982-8521 to pick up your passes.

Try-a-thon
Back again by popular demand is the Try-a-thon. We will have a mix of new and returning classes for you to sample every day of the week. During our normal scheduled times instead of hour-long classes our instructors will be mixing it up and giving you a 30 minute taste of new and old classes. You can come the entire time, or just for a half hour or so...there is no registration, just pop in whenever you’d like! There will be some transition time between classes and you are not committed to even stay the whole time a class is going on...no judgement here! Did we mention that all week is free!!! Look at our January Schedule to find what is being offered during specific time blocks throughout the day.

Men’s Unofficiated Basketball League
Men’s Unofficiated Basketball League is a call your own league where we provide you with score keepers and you provide the team. At the Washington Center Gymnasium, the Parks and Recreation Department offers Sunday nights as a getaway night for all you gentlemen out there that enjoy a competitive but friendly game of basketball. The league starts December 4th so be sure to check out how to register on the City of New London’s website.

Youth Programs
Home Alone Babysitting CPR/AED Course
This class is taught by an American Heart Association Instructor and is open to students aged 10-15.
Students are asked to bring a bag lunch. All other supplies are included in the class.
Enrolled students receive: Digital Course Material, a Course Completion Certification, and an American Heart Association Heart savers CPR/ AED Certification card (valid for 2 years).

Open Gym
At the Washington Center Gym
Open gym is available for all youth and is a great time to get some extra practice in for your favorite sport or just burn off some energy when it’s not so nice outside. Some equipment is available but you are more than welcome to bring your own. A supervisor is on site at all times. Open Gym will close if there are less than 4 people after the first 2 hours. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult, and there is no charge for adult guardian of participating children.

OPEN GYM RULES
Respect: Our Equipment, other participants and their equipment, the gym supervisor and the facility.Bring a change of clean dry shoes, street shoes are not allowed.
No food or drink allowed in the gym area (water only).
Do not use offensive or vulgar language.
No rough housing.
Play organized or pick-up game on a half court with the curtain closed in order to allow others to play or practice on the other side.
No dunking or hanging on any of the rims.
