Save the Birds : Restored Birds of the New London Public Museum

The New London Public Museum has close to 200 taxidermied bird specimens in our collection. Typically, over 130 are on display year round. Most of the birds are close to or over 100 years old. Their feathers have faded and become dusty and their mounts have drooped. Over time, their stories have been forgotten and their glory lost. In 2012, we started a campaign to Save the Birds! Since then, numerous community members have sponsored the restoration of a bird in the museum's collection. This exhibit showcases the restored birds.
