The State of Wisconsin has decided that work permits for children under the age of 16 can be done online by the parent/guardian.  After June 30th,  the City of New London will no longer be allowed to issue permits.

On May 11, 2023 the Board of Review will meet for the purpose of calling a meeting into session during the 45 day period beginning April 4th.  Due to the fact that the assessment roll is not completed at this time, the Board of Review will adjourn until June 15th.

On June 8th Open Book will be held on June 8th from 2pm until 4pm in the Council Chambers.  No appointment needed.

On June 15th, Board of Review will hear and act on property value assessments.  Those wishing to appear must file an objection form and schedule and an appointment with the City Clerk.

The east gate (Werner Allen Blvd) at City Garage will now open from 7am - 4 pm for winter hours, it will however be open 7 days a week.

The City's Clerk's office has increased a number of fees.  These include dog license, beverage operator licenses, and more.

On Saturday, March 26, 2022 the county’s Emergency Management Department will resume the audible Saturday outdoor warning system test at noon.  Please share this information widely as to avoid any unnecessary calls to 911. 
Sirens are intended for outdoor warning only.  They are not intended to be heard inside homes or businesses.  Outagamie County recommends that residents obtain NOAA weather radios or a local weather phone app for severe weather alerts.

Starting Monday Oct, 4, 2021, the Municipal offices will be open Monday - Thursday 7:30 - 4:30 and Fridays from 7:30 - 11:30.
If these hours don't work for your particular situation, let us know! Many of our services can be handled online and/or over the phone. Otherwise there are times during the month we have staff in late for meetings and we can look at setting up an appointment to accommodate your needs.

There will be road closures for our upcoming street reconstruction projects.  This includes Werner Allen Blvd (from Wolf River Ave to Jennings Rd) and 1 block on Shawano Street (from Cook St to Beacon Ave). 
The City’s contractor has informed us that they plan on starting construction the week of June 7^th, the road will normally be closed to traffic during construction.  Spot repairs to local utilities will kick off the project.  Ultimately the entire road surface along this stretch will be replaced.  The contractor anticipates wrapping up this construction in mid-August. 
Also, during that timeframe a 1 block section of Shawano Street will be resurfaced from Cook Street to Beacon Ave.  The same contractor is doing this work but has not given an exact timeframe when this 1 block section of road will be closed to traffic.

This area comparison listing was presented at the March Finance and Personnel Committee meeting.  The Cities of Clintonville, Waupaca, Shawano and the Village of Hortonville were chosen for the comparison for local area.  The Cities of Seymour and Mayville were chosen for being relatively the same size as the City of New London.

The Public Services Department has been notified that work for the Industrial Loop Rail Road Crossing has been pushed back to begin Monday August 24^th. CN will begin with some staking and maybe some track adjustments starting that day or the next, with the city’s contractor starting excavation outside the track on August 27^th.

The Waupaca County Highway Department has notified the City that a contractor will be resurfacing the Shawano Street bridge on Thursday, August 20^th and Friday, August 21^st.  During that time the bridge will be closed and all traffic will be detoured to the Pearl Street bridge.

On Friday New London City Officials consulted with the Waupaca County and Outagamie County Department of Health and Human Services, Waupaca County Emergency Management, and ThedaCare.
After evaluating all the information and recommendations the New London Shamrock Club and City of New London Officials are announcing the St. Patrick’s Day events including the parade have been cancelled. The switching of the signs and Hooligan Day will continue.

In order for us to facilitate our fall cleanup all floral and other arrangements need to be removed from the grave sites prior to October 15, 2019. All remaining arrangements will be discarded after October 15. If you can not make it out to the cemetery before then please contact the Floral Hill Cemetery @ (920) 982-8518. This excludes shepherd hooks which may remain by the grave sites. Fall and winter arrangements are permitted after November 1
