VE Exhibit Label 1:
The Osceola point is part of the Large Side Notch Cluster and was named in 1946 by Robert Ritzenthaler, Curator of Anthropology at the Milwaukee Public Museum. He also served as an officer and editor for the Wisconsin Archaeological Society. He named the point for the site where is was found in Grant County, Wisconsin.

These types of points are primarily found in the upper and mid Mississippi River Valley and into the Ohio, Illinois, and Missouri river valleys.
