Crinoid stems are the stems of sea lilies and they come in many sizes. However, without the crown, or cup and arms, of the crinoid, it is hard to identify the species, since most stems look very similar. Fossil crinoid stems are quite common in marine sediments, and are usually found with fossil bivalves and brachiopods.
