The St. Charles point was originally reported to be a late Archaic to Early Woodland point. An example was then found in Alabama and was correctly identified as early Archaic. Due to the misidentification of the time period, this new point was named Plevna after the Plevna Site in Alabama. When the corrected time period was identified for the St. Charles point, it was realized that both points were the same.
