One trilobite cephalic shield in dark grey, shale matrix. The specimen has previously been glued to fix the cephalic shield on the left lateral and dorsal side.

A well preserved cast of a trilobite cephalon or head. Trilobites are distinugishable based on their various body segments, each looking very different depending on the species. On this particular specimen, the eyes can be seen protruding from the semi-triangular cephalon near the sides. As stated earlier, trilobites went extinct 252 million years ago. This particular trilobite lived roughly 390 - 360 million years ago.
