These teeth are from the left jaw of an ancient herbivore belonging to the genus Merycoidodon. More commonly referrred to as an Oreodont. These ancient herbivores were roughly the size of sheep, had four toed hooves, fang like teeth, and resembled modern pigs with longer tails. This particular fossil is between 23 and 34 million years old and was found in South Dakota.
