Leucichthyops vagans. Two small impressions of scales preserved on rock. One scale impression still contains some replacement material.
Scales appear grey in color.

Wyoming is famous for its fossils from the time of dinosaurs. While this isn't a dinosaur it is from the Cretaceous Period, 145 million to 66 million years ago. This sample of rock from the Mowry Shale contains two grey spots which are scales from a species of fish known as Leucicthyops vagans.
