Three brachiopods. Articulated.
VE Exhibit Label 1:
Brachiopods are one of the most common shell fossils in the Devonian Period, 419.2 million and 358.9 million years ago, rock of New York. The exact age of these brachiopods is presently unknown. Unlike clams which are molluscs the brachiopods cannot be found in fresh water. They also use a tentacle like feature called a pedicle to secure themselves in place.
